¡Bienvenidos! Gracias por estar semana a semana junto a nosotros. Por los comentarios, por escuchar y participar de esta familia que es Spanish in Cabo.

 

En estos 5 minutos de español a la mitad de la semana vamos a hablar de números, ¡sí, sobre números!

 

Los números son una parte importante de la vida de todos los días, si viajas por América Latina las personas te van a decir su número de teléfono, los precios y es bueno que los practiques para sentirte más seguro.

 

Pero practicarlo mientras escuchas es más difícil así que añadimos una dificultad más

Mi hijo tiene veintiún años   My son is 21 years old.

¿Cuántos años tiene tu hijo?

Veintiuno.

 

Si después de 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71, 81, 91 o 101 sigue un nombre masculino,  la o de uno se elimina (the o is dropped from uno)

 

Treinta y un libros   31 books                               

                               

Cincuenta y un gatos  51 cats          

Ciento un Dálmatas   101 Dalmatians

 

Pero, sesenta y una mujeres        61 women

Setenta y una vacas                     71 cows

Ochenta y una amigas                   81  friends

 

¿Y en los números ordinales, primero, segundo, tercero, cuarto? First, second, third, fourth…

Tenemos algunos detalles en primero y tercero:

 

El chico vive en el tercer piso. The boy lives on the 3rd floor

Es el chico del tercero.               It`s the boy of the 3rd.

¡Solo subíste el primer escalón y ya estás cansado! ¡Cómo vas a subir la tour Eiffel! You only climbed the first step and you're already tired! How are you going to climb the Tour Eiffel?

 

Estoy en el primero y me faltan muchos escalones   I'm on the first one and I'm missing many steps

Con los nombres femeninos no tenemos cambios:

 

La farmacia está en la primera calle - The Pharmacy is on the first street

Dobla en la primera a la izquierda- Turn on the first to your left

 

Están aburridos con tantos números, les vamos a mandar doscientos besos

Y trescientas sonrisas.

 

El paseo costó trescientos dólares

 

A partir de doscientos hay que coordinar el género

Ochocientos dólares- masculino

Ochocientas libras- femenino pounds

 

Es un libro con trescientas sesenta y cinco recetas,  una por día del año

Numbers are an important part of everyday life, if you travel around Latin America people are going to tell you their phone number, prices and it's good that you practice them to feel more confident.

With feminine nouns we have no changes:

And three hundred “trescientas” smiles.

 

The ride cost three hundred dollars

 

From two hundred onwards you have to coordinate gender
