Spanish in Cabo

  First: English version    How are you doing? Good morning, good afternoon or good night depending on where you are or when you hear us.   In these five minutes of Spanish in the middle of the week we are going to talk about some words that exist in Spanish and do not have a direct translation into English.   In other words, to say the same thing we need more words and in some cases we don't manage to explain the concept well. So today we are going to talk about words.   Yes, words only words.   For example, if we are at a bus stop, we will surely listen: Uff ¡Cuánto tarda el camión!   Ufa, how late the “camión” is! (Remember that “camión” is the local bus in Mexico)   They say that women (tardamos) take time to get ready when they are about to go out. That's not true, because we are never late (nunca tardamos), sometimes we are a little late. Anyway, all Latin Americans are late sometimes...  A veces, las mujeres tardamos en arreglarnos para salit.

  ¿Qué tal amigos?                                        Buenos días, buenas tardes o buenas noches, según en el lugar dónde estés o a la hora en que nos escuches. En los 5 minutos de español a la mitad de la semana vamos a hablar de los orígenes del español, este idioma que   hablamos 490 millones de personas y que es el segundo en el mundo en comunicación internacional. Una lengua universal, multicultural y en constante evolución. Hoy nos tocan: los arabismos. Cuando hablamos en el español de todos los días, ¿usamos muchas palabras que vienen del árabe? Mira, nada más: ¿Quieres una taza de café? ¿Con azúcar? ¿Agua o jugo de naranja? ¿Cuántas palabras son arabismos en estas preguntas habituales? Taza - Proviene de la palabra árabe “tassah” llegó hasta España por la importación de cerámicas orientales . Café- Esta bebida que muchos adoran viene de como los árabes llamaban al café : «qahwah».
