 De disfrutar, a nice verb, I hope you enjoy these 5 minutes of Spanish in the middle of the week. It is a verb that can be applied a lot as a farewell: enjoy the day! 

It's great to enjoy the simple things in life. That's right, among so much sad news we want you to enjoy a little bit of Spanish, because disfrutar in English is: to enjoy or to have fun.

•  el disfrute- enjoyment 
• disfrutable - enjoyable 

 What about the origin of this word? 

 It is a word of Latin origin, the prefix "dis" means to separate or distribute. Frutar comes from fruits. That is, to take the fruit or enjoy something, the fruit is what results from a work or investment. 

 How do we use this word?

 Disfrutar is to enjoy something and so we say: 

Disfruto de la buena comida       I enjoy good food

 Disfrutamos de la amistad We enjoy friendship 

Often It is often accompanied by: de 

Disfruto de las buenas lecciones I enjoy the good lessons Disfruto de tu compañía I enjoy your Company

 It can also be followed by a gerund (ing)

•  I enjoyed talking with you
•  Disfruté estudiando durante las clases I enjoyed studying during the classes 
• Disfrutábamos mirando los atardeceres rojos. We enjoyed watching the red sunsets

 And we have many expressions like

•  Qué disfrutes el día. Enjoy your day. 
• ¡Disfruta! Enjoy! 
• Or when you give someone a gift, the person thanks you and you respond: ¡Que lo disfrutes! Enjoy it!

De disfrutar, un bonito verbo, espero que disfruten de estos 5 minutos de español a la mitad de la semana.

 

Es un verbo que se puede aplicar mucho como una despedida: ¡disfruten el día! Es muy bueno disfrutar de las cosas simples de la vida.

 

Así es, entre tantas noticias tristes queremos que disfrutes un poco del español, porque disfrutar en inglés es: to enjoy or to have fun.

¿Y en cuanto al origen de esta palabra?

 

Es una palabra de origen latín, el prefijo “dis” significa separar o repartir. Frutar viene de frutas.

Es decir, sacar la fruta o gozar de algo, el fruto es lo que resulta de un trabajo o inversión.

 

¿Cómo usamos esta palabra?

 

Disfrutar es gozar algo y así decimos:

Disfruto de la buena comida          I enjoy good food

Disfrutamos de la amistad               We enjoy friendship

Muchas veces va acompañado de: de

Disfruto de las buenas lecciones    I enjoy the good lessons

Disfruto de tu compañía                  I enjoy your Company

 

También puede ir seguido de un gerundio (ing)

Disfruté mucho de conversar contigo

 

Disfruté estudiando durante las clases   I enjoyed studying during the classes

Disfrutábamos mirando los atardeceres rojos.  We enjoyed watching the red sunsets

 

Y tenemos muchas expresiones como

O cuando le das un regalo a alguien,  la persona te agradece y tú respondes:
