La correspondencia del amor / love correspondence- Love letters - 5 minutes of Spanish & English version + Podcast

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening depending on where you are or what time you listen to us.

We are in a very special day as we celebrate love and friendship!

Thank you very much for being here, participating week after week, in this podcast about Spanish, a language that we love and that today summons us. Congratulations on the day of love and friendship.

Of course, February 14 is not only the day of romantic love, the day of love and friendship, and also, why not love yourself.

For the purposes of a Spanish audio, we are not going to talk about verbs like amar and querer or anything romantic, since we already talked about verbs last year...and the other one. I imagine that in this seventh podcast the topic will not be so romantic.

Well, romanticism has to be present this week at least, otherwise, when are we romantic?...In this 184th edition of 5 minutes of Spanish, we are going to refer to correspondence, and the correspondence of love.

Phew! I knew...

You said an exclamation, or rather, an interjection; (Phew) - Uf. According to the Real Academia de la Lengua Española it implies tiredness, boredom, which in English is boring or even worse, disgust which in English is disgusting...and that is the opposite of love.

No, it wasn't because of that, it's that correspondence or mail, letters is what we talked about last podcast.

I know, but we're not done, so let's hit it.

What is correspondence?

It's the action of corresponding or correspondence or connecting or relating to others in an equivalent way or belonging.

Correspondencia or corresponder has that difficulty of pronunciation of the double r so to connect is much simpler.

It is the mail or set of letters that are sent or received, that is, letters, postcards, telegrams or packages,

Nowadays many packages are sent, here we talk about parcels and there are several brands /brands/ very well known.

We are not going to advertise, but in Spanish: DHL, Fedex and there are more.

Let's see if SpanishUp2u gets paid for the advertising!

There is a correspondence between mathematical terms

But we'd better not talk about mathematics, right?

How do you write a letter?

In the heading you write Dear Sir, Madam, always to the right the place from where you are writing and the date, you say goodbye with Sincerely or Best regards

Ah but a love letter...

No for love you are more informal, although it is nice to keep the order of writing the date on the right and the final salutation on the left, of course there you say something like:

With heart in hand

Always yours

Ah, anyway, something romantic. The emotion of sending a letter, putting the stamp, going to the post office is very nice and receiving it too,

Now we receive packages of things we bought online...

It`s not the same

A postcard?

It's easier than writing a letter and it's nice to make them. On the Internet you can find a thousand fantastic ideas

If you are listening to this love correspondence podcast and you have not yet made a gift to your special person or to yourself, it is time to do it in Spanish.

You look for a simple phrase, draw or cut out words and images of things that the other person likes.

Bring out your inner child

Scissors, paper, some paint and the magic of words.

Two interesting facts about letters. The first letters were written on clay tablets.

Ah, of course there was no paper and the second?

An American artist handed out postcards with his address, so that people could write their secrets on a postcard. Then with these conversations he has written several books. And us, we worked for a year to write about history, food and grammar?

And you, do you like to write, make a nice postcard in Spanish, it's a nice way to connect with other people.

Thank you so much for making it this far on the Podcast.  And thank you for listening, participating, commenting. Spanish in Cabo and SpanishUp2U wouldn't be the same without you. We want you to speak and think in Spanish, that's our mission.

Thank you for allowing us to do this work that we love and for listening to this podcast, although we confess that we still don't have our postcard for the Day of Love and Friendship.

And, if you liked this podcast, please share it.

Write your love letter or postcard!

See you in the workshops, in the classes, 24/7 on SpanishUp2U, in the Thursday workshop on Zoom, or listen to us next Wednesday.

Happy Love and Friendship Day

See you soon.

Bye-bye.
