By “corridas”, do you mean bullfights? There has been a lot of talk about them this last month....

 

Exactly, it's that a judge banned bullfights and any bullfighting (i.e., bullfighting) event in the Plaza Mexico, the largest venue for this type of show with a capacity of 50,000 people in Mexico City.

 

He did it out of respect for the animals and the environment, right?

 

Yes, this sport or rather traditional activity, to call it somehow, is only maintained in Spain, Colombia and Mexico in the rest of the Hispanic world is banned since the early twentieth century because of the animal cruelty involved.

It is a Mexican musical genre that tells the story of a process and its most important characters. It was born at the beginning of the 19th century with the Independence, but became very popular in the 20th century with the Mexican Revolution. It described the adventures of the revolutionary leaders and the events of those years between 1910 and 1920.

 

Are there “corridos” today?

 

They are also popular today. They continue to tell the sentimental stories of the inhabitants of the communities and more current issues such as: immigration. If you live in Los Angeles you have surely heard a “corrido”. It is the place where most Mexican “corridos” are produced.

The mesh stockings or pantyhose, very elegant and formal for women, many times break. You say, in that case, I've got the stocking on and wearing it is a style mistake. But here in Los Cabos we don't wear pantyhose...for obvious reasons.

 

Ahhh it's the same as in English, run in the panty. How did we get from cruelty to bulls to pantyhose?

 

I don't know, but you can also run in the mask and that's another serious style mistake...and that's common here because with the heat you sweat a lot and all the makeup runs...a disaster!
