¡Bienvenidos! Gracias por estar semana a semana junto a nosotros, por los comentarios, por escuchar y participar de esta familia que es Spanish in Cabo. Otra vez vamos a tener un audio todo en español y vamos a hablar de una palabra, ¿verdad?

 

Sí, en estos cinco minutos de español a la mitad de la semana vamos a hablar sobre una palabra muy corta de solo 4 letras que se aplica a muchas cosas, seguro que la has escuchado varias veces.

 

¡Palabra de 4 letras! ¿Cuál será? ¿Adivinas? ¿Con qué letra empieza?

 

Empieza con L y termina con o, es masculina y es lado. Viene del latín: latus es un término que refiere a las partes que limitan un todo.

 

Por ejemplo: el acceso a la plaza está bloqueado por todos lados, mejor estacionamos el carro por aquí.

 

Una masa de aire frío ingresará por el lado del mar y hará que desciendan las temperaturas en todo el estado….para los que están en Los Cabos, debo decirles que eso del aire frío…es solo un ejemplo…

 

Debemos quedarnos al lado del ventilador… pero si estás en Los Cabos y quieres ir a la playa te recomiendo ir por el lado de Tiendas 17, hay mucho tráfico en el centro.

 

También lo aplicamos en la geometría y aquí tenemos mucho vocabulario: los lados de los ángulos

 

Los lados del triángulo, del polígono, todas las figuras geométricas tienen lados. El triángulo equilátero es el que tiene los tres lados iguales.

 

¿Cuál es la fórmula del área del cuadrado?

 

Lado por lado, tengo memoria ¿Hay otros significados de lado?

 

También el lado es el costado del cuerpo de una persona o de un animal

 

Duermo de lado así no ronco.

 

Exacto, si tú lo dices….Es muy importante dormir de lado para no roncar…. Por otro lado, las dos caras de una moneda o de una tela reciben el nombre de lado.

 

¿Qué lado de la moneda eliges? ¿Cara o cruz?

 

En México águila o sol. Pero, todas las cosas tienen dos lados….

 

Los muebles tienen sus lados. Pensemos en una mesa, cuando vas a sacarla de una habitación para que pase por la puerta la pones de lado, y pasas primero las patas…

 

Tú eres un experto en mover muebles, pues tuviste una mueblería, hace unos añitos…En el caso de la ropa también vemos que tiene lados. Por ejemplo, tengo una sudadera que es reversible, de un lado gris y del otro estampada. Es genial para los viajes, ya lo sabes….

 

También lado implica lugar. Por ejemplo:

 

Al lado del banco está la farmacia

 

¿Dónde está el gato?

 

En la casa de al lado.

 

¿Dónde pusiste la sal?

 

Está ahí al ladito de tu plato…..

 

Lado es también, un aspecto que se puede considerar respecto a algo.

Yes, in these five minutes of Spanish in the middle of the week we are going to talk about a very short word of only 4 letters that applies to many things, sure you have heard it several times.
