En estos
5 minutos a mitad de la semana vamos a hablar de palabras que vemos a diario
especialmente quienes manejamos y ya te estás imaginando, ¡sí!, el tema de hoy son
las señales de tránsito
¡Es algo muy práctico! Pues si manejas pones
mucha atención a las señales además, hay muchas convenciones internacionales,
colores y dibujos que nos ayudan. Un círculo blanco con borde rojo y un número
es un límite de velocidad…
Límite de
velocidad- speed limit
Otra
señal roja pero en un hexágono o sea 6 lados es la de ALTO y si la ves tienes
que parar
Alto-stop
Pero
también, el niño o chamaco es muy alto / The boy is very tall
Alto significa stop pero también tall según el
contexto
La altura
del puente es de 50 metros.
La
Altura del puente- the bridge height
Otra de las señales de tráfico que es un acuerdo
internacional es un triángulo con borde rojo y además dice: Ceda el paso
Si tú ves el triángulo sabes que tienes que permitir
pasar al otro
Ceda el paso – yield the right of way
El verbo es ceder que es sinónimo de dar, entregar o
conceder / give or surrender or grant
Un
ejemplo de ceder, un verbo que no es de uso diario es:
Un caballero muy amable cede su asiento a la dama. /
A
very kind gentleman yields his seat to the lady.
¿Quiénes son más cuidadosos al manejar las mujeres o
los hombres?
Uyy la
eterna polémica….
Lo importante es que la señal de tránsito te dice:
Maneje
con precaución - Drive with caution
Si vienes a México por supuesto que conoces una
señal amarilla y negra que tiene unas ondas y dice: topes.
Enseguida
de esta señal vas a sentir que todo el carro se mueve y estás pasando un tope
La
señal de tráfico favorita de los mecánicos pues los topes rompen muchos carros
Y a

going to talk about words that we see every day especially those of us who
drive and you are already imagining, yes, today's topic is traffic signs!
It's a very practical thing! Well, if you drive you
