Cumplir comes from the Latin: complere which is to complete or fill something. When do we use this verb? It is a verb that is used a lot and it changes its meaning depending on the context in which we apply it, almost every day we use it in some way. That is why we are going to see many verbs in English that are translated as cumplir in Spanish: fulfill, meet, comply accomplish, acchieve, obey, follow. Wow, so many verbs! But, at least cumplir is a regular verb, ending in ir like escribir, so it meets the same endings: yo cumplo/ tú cumples; él / ella /usted cumple / nosotros cumplimos / ellos/ ellas o ustedes cump
