In these 5 minutes of Spanish in the middle of the
week we are going to talk about 2 verbs from the poner family: proponer and
posponer.
They are cognates with English and French. (to propose
- proposer)

What does it mean to propose?
It is to expose a project or an idea or a person so
that someone else accepts it.
Shall we propose an example?
Perfect, here is an example: When I get home I am
going to propose to my husband to go out to dinner, I want to visit that new
restaurant and I don't want to cook...

We can say it in the past tense and it follows the
same conjugation as “poner”.

We can also say words similar to propose like;
Ofrecer - to offer
Plantear - to propose
Presentar - to present
Procurar- to procure
Another verb in the poner family is posponer.
It is also cognate in English (to postpone) in French
retarder, reporter.

¿Qué significa proponer?
Es
exponer un proyecto o una idea o una persona para que otro lo acepte.
¿Proponemos un ejemplo?
Perfecto
ahí va el ejemplo: Cuando llegue a casa le voy a proponer a mi esposo salir a
cenar, quiero conocer ese restaurante nuevo y además no quiero cocinar…

es recomendar a alguien: Propongo a Mariela como gerente de división, es muy

platos o preparar algo de comer, ¿qué
te parece?; es una forma diferente de practicar español, ¿verdad que sí?

También podemos decir
palabras similares a proponer como;

con sus hijos cuando más lo necesitaban.
